Summary from Goodreads:

Like fire and ice, Alexandra Callet’s life runs hot and cold.
At the age of thirty-three, Alexandra owns a stunning home and a successful interior design company. But she is in love with her business partner, Jake Taylor, and he doesn’t even seem to realize she’s a woman. She should be on top of the world, but instead she feels dragged down by the void in her heart. Hoping for answers, she decides a trip to Mexico might soothe her soul.

Jake Taylor only pretends to be a confirmed bachelor.
Jake has been entranced by Alexandra’s determination and exotic beauty since the moment they met, but she has no idea how he feels. He considers confessing his love, but fears jeopardizing their friendship and business. He’s caught in a web of pretending he doesn’t care, and doesn’t see a way out of it.

Alexandra is recruited for a dangerous mission.
Following her trip to Mexico, her resemblance to a member of an assassin’s family leads Alexandra to be recruited by the DEA. Her training leaves her distracted, and her business begins to suffer. Jake notices her sudden change, and feels her slipping both personally and professionally beyond his reach. Should he finally take the chance…before it’s too late? After all, he has nothing to lose.

However, when Alexandra returns to Mexico for her mission, things go terribly wrong. Will she be able find the strength to fight and escape the peaceful haven that has now become her prison? Or will Jake lose Alexandra forever…

Book Tour: Walker Pride by Bernadette Marie

Bestselling Author Bernadette Marie is known for building families readers want to be part of. Her series The Keller Family has graced bestseller charts since its release in 2011, along with her other series and single title books. The married mother of five sons promises Happily Ever After always…and says she can write it, because she lives it.

When not writing, Bernadette Marie is shuffling her sons to their many events—mostly hockey—and enjoying the beautiful views of the Colorado Rocky Mountains from her front step. She is also an accomplished martial artist with a second degree black belt in Tang Soo Do.

A chronic entrepreneur, Bernadette Marie opened her own publishing house in 2011, 5 Prince Publishing, so that she could publish the books she liked to write and help make the dreams of other aspiring authors come true too. Bernadette Marie is also the CEO of Illumination Author Events.

A few Questions and answers with Bernadette

  •         What is your favorite late night snack?
    • a.       Chocolate. Nothing specific. I love chocolate in all of its glorious forms.
  •      Where do you see yourself in 5-10 years?
    • a.       I see that NYT Bestseller wish coming true. I know I’ll have many more books out and I see no end to that. I’d like to see my publishing house grow and succeed as well as my author event company. In ten years I’ll be able to travel more, so I think my books will only be enhanced by that.
  •       Tell us 5 random things about yourself.
    • a.       I built myself a treadmill desk and that is where I work for the first two hours of my morning.
    • b.      My first career was as a nail care professional and I opened my first salon when I was 20. I still do hair in my basement studio, when I have time.
    • c.       When I was in high school my vocal coach told me that it takes 20 years to perfect an operatic voice and I was 10 years ahead of my time.
    • d.      I will put on my FitBit the minute I wake up and walk to the bathroom so I don’t miss any steps in my day.
    • e.       I have very few organization skills when it comes to my house and yet I dislike piles and clutter with a passion.
  •        What was the most surprising part of writing this book?
    • a.       It surprised me that the characters kept taking control of the book and it got longer and longer. In fact, I had no idea that the “who done it” guy was the guy! I thought he was going to be in the next book. I was very surprised at that.

Snippet

Shifting a glance to her he noticed how delicate the skin was on her neck. It would be a damn shame to not press his lips to that pulse point just once.
The thought alone nearly had him light headed.
When she looked up at him and her eyelashes batted a moment before she licked her lips, he was gone.
Eric swiftly pulled her to him and took possession of her mouth as if his life depended on it.

Book Blitz" Virtue and Valor by Collete Cameron

Virtue and Valor
by Collette Cameron
Series: Highland Heather Romancing a Scot, #2
Genre: Historical Romance - Scottish Regency
Release Date: June 24, 2015

Bartholomew Yancy never expected to inherit an English earldom and had no intention of marrying. Now, the Earl of Ramsbury and last in his line, he’s obligated to resign his position as England’s War Secretary, find a wife, and produce an heir. Only one woman holds the least appeal: Isobel Ferguson, an exquisite Scotswoman. Brought to Scotland to mediate between feuding clans, he doggedly woos her.

Disillusioned with men pursuing her for her attractiveness, rather than her unusual intellect, Isobel has all but abandoned any hope of finding a husband in the Highlands. Not only does she believe Yancy no different than her other suitors, he’s a notorious rake. She’s been told he’s practically betrothed. Therefore, his interest in her cannot possibly be honorable, and so she shuns his attentions.

When Isobel is mistakenly abducted by a band of rogue Scots, Yancy risks his life to rescues her. To salvage her compromised reputation, her brother and father insist she marry him. Yancy readily agrees, but Isobel—knowing full well she’s fated for spinsterhood by refusing his offer— won’t be coerced into marriage.

Can love unite a reluctant earl and a disenchanted beauty?

Bestselling, award-winning author, Collette Cameron, has a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies and a Master's in Teaching. Author of the Castle Brides Series, Highland Heather Romancing a Scot Series, and Conundrums of the Misses Culpepper Series, Collette writes Regency and Scottish historicals and makes her home in the Pacific Northwest with her husband and five mini-dachshunds. Mother to three and a self-proclaimed Cadbury Chocolate chocoholic, Collette loves a good joke, inspirational quotes, flowers, trivia, and all things shabby chic or cobalt blue. You'll always find dogs, birds, quirky—sometimes naughty—humor, and a dash of inspiration in her novels.

Her motto for life? You can’t have too much chocolate, too many hugs, too many flowers, or too many books. She’s thinking about adding shoes to that list.

EXCERPT:

I turned to leave. There were a million things I wanted to say to Justin, but without a guarantee that he’d respond the way I wanted him too, I was too afraid.
“Jess.”
“Yes?” I was almost at the door.
Justin hopped up on the table behind him and rested his feet on a chair. I waited for him to talk. “I’m scared,” he finally said.
“Scared of what?”
“That you’ll break me.”
I walked over to Justin slowly and stood in front of him. “You don’t believe I care about you?”
“I do. But feelings change, people change.”
“I don’t know what I’m supposed to be saying right now. I was the one who asked you out. I was the one who told you I was interested, but you turned me down, twice.”
“Because I’m an idiot.”
“Justin…”
“Just hear me out, okay?”
“Ok.” I took a step closer to him and he reached for my hand.
